Welcome and warm greetings from the Tourism Entrepreneurs Women Association Nepal (TEWAN)!
Established in 2017, TEWAN was founded with the mission of “Equal participation for sustainable tourism.” We proudly stand as a collective voice for women entrepreneurs working across various sectors of tourism in Nepal. From hospitality and guiding to transportation and cultural experiences, our members bring passion, creativity, and commitment to the heart of the industry.
Tourism is a service-driven sector, where quality care, cultural sensitivity, and a strong connection to communities play a central role. Women entrepreneurs bring unique strengths—their leadership in hospitality, creativity, and deep community ties make tourism not only more inclusive but also more impactful. When women are empowered as business owners and leaders, local economies thrive, cultures are celebrated, and responsible tourism practices flourish.
According to the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), women make up more than 54% of the global tourism workforce, yet they remain underrepresented in decision-making roles and continue to face barriers in leadership, training, finance, and property ownership. At TEWAN, we believe this must change. That’s why we are working to ensure women are not just part of the tourism industry—but are leading it. Through mentorship, capacity building, and advocacy, we aim to inspire and prepare the next generation of women leaders in tourism.
Our journey is guided by the belief that we are stronger together. Teamwork, collective voices, and a shared purpose are the pillars of our strength. Together, we are shaping a more inclusive, sustainable, and women-led future for Nepal’s tourism.
Thank you for being a part of this journey. Together, we rise.
