TEWAN

Message from the President (2020-2022)

Our decision-making power can change our life it’s not about fortune, we are now able to represent the life dreamt by grandmother and mother. Today we are advocating gender equality. We seem to be asking for respect but it doesn’t make us comfortable and active that is why it is time to gain respect. It’s time to earn value for ourselves. Staying home doesn’t give us freedom and confidence but working gives. We are now proud enough to discuss in the matter not how much we earn but what we earn. The recognition as unpaid in-house labor is a social shame, we urge women force to join us on the journey to freedom and self-respect.Especially if we talk about tourism it was far away from the reach to women in traditional society. Today we are proud to represent that small number of women entrepreneurs who are the hero of their parents.

We had our mission to establish a kind of independent and self-valued activists to change the thoughts and traditional perspectives. In this regard, we are actively trying to build a sustainable business environment and self-empowerment for those suppressed psychological mindsets.
We are here to speak the collective voice and collective agenda of! women entrepreneurs. For now, society may consider our unity as a pressure group we rather consider to be the motivators to live the dream.

Message from the President (2022-2024)

Tourism Entrepreneur Women Association Nepal (TEWAN) is a powerful movement that aims to empower women through tourism. Our organization provides a platform for established women entrepreneurs and emerging leaders to work together towards creating a more conducive environment for women in the tourism sector. In Nepal, women in business have had a short history, and tourism has traditionally been seen as a male-dominated industry. However, in recent years, we have witnessed some positive changes, and more women are getting involved in the sector.

We believe that economic empowerment is crucial for overall women’s empowerment and gender equality in Nepal. Self-employment and skill development in tourism activities can pave the way for women to succeed in other business and entrepreneurial sectors. TEWAN is committed to becoming a change maker and role model for strengthening women’s participation in tourism, making contributions from the household level to the nation’s development.

We aim to empower women across Nepal through a series of training programs related to tourism, personality development, and technology. Our goal is to equip women with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the industry and beyond. By providing training and support, we hope to encourage more women to become entrepreneurs and leaders in the tourism sector.
