Tourism Entrepreneurs Women Association Nepal (TEWAN) is an organization founded by women in businesses of Pokhara, with a motive of “Equal Participation in Sustainable Tourism”.

This organization is a non-profitable public social organization that operates various social services as campaign with the involvement of various government, non-government organizations associated with the tourism field.

TEWAN aims to group all active female entrepreneurs involved in the tourism business and help institutionalize gender equality and women empowerment for development of tourism. Through various training programs that will help provide quality service in tourism business, we wish to increase the involvement of women in Tourism.

Our Objectives

  • This organization is a non-profitable public social organization.
  • Operates various social services as campaign with the involvement of various government, non-government organizations associated with the tourism field and personnel involved in the social service.
  • To group all active female entrepreneurs involved in the tourism business.
  • To help institutionalize gender equality and women empowerment for development of tourism.
  • To increase the involvement of women in the development of tourism.
  • To run various training programs that will help provide quality service in tourism business.
  • To help in the development of tourism in cooperation with different national and international organizations.
  • To run different awareness raising programs to minimize the negative perceptions, perversions and discrepancy existing in tourism field.
  • To help with the rights of women entrepreneurs.
  • To run various programs related to environment conservation that will be helping for the sustainable development of tourism industry.

Our Plans

  • This organization will be working to implement the above services taking the permission from the concerned body in accordance with the prevailing law of Nepal.
  • A physical office needed for this organization will be built or taken on lease and the computers, telephones, fax and the vehicles will be bought or used on rent.
  • Appointment of the staff needed for the organization and determining their terms of service.
  • Operate a bank account by depositing the amount received in the organization.
  • The proposed organization shall not perform any actions that will hamper Nepal’s foreign policy, integrity, sovereignty, independence, peace and security.
  • This organization will perform various seminars related to the promotion of tourism cooperating with various governmental, non-governmental and international organizations for the development of overall tourism business.
  • This organization will organize or take part in different national or international conferences.
